Nora Delores Armstrong was born on July 10, 1939, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Joseph and Nora Jackson. She received her education in the local school system and attended Stanton High School.
A woman of unwavering faith, she was a devoted wife to the late Robert Lee Armstrong, Jr., sharing 59 blessed years of marriage. She served her community through a 30-year career at the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services. In her spare time, she found great fulfillment in serving the Lord, volunteering at her church, and traveling with family and friends.
Sister Armstrong was a faithful member of New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, where she served diligently on the Deaconess Board under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Marion A. Wise. She was also a devoted and cherished member of the church choir for more than 63 years, lifting her voice in praise and worship unto the Lord. In addition to her love for music, she served the church with dedication as a treasurer and Sunday School teacher, nurturing both the spiritual and the practical needs of the congregation.
On Thursday, January 15, 2026, Nora Delores Armstrong peacefully answered the call of her Heavenly Father and transitioned from her earthly labor to her eternal reward, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Nora Jackson; her beloved husband, Robert Lee Armstrong, Jr.; and her brother, James Jackson.
Those left to cherish her precious memory include her sister, Evelyn Lawrence; her children, Gail Robinson (Robert), Darlene Martin (Wesley), Victor Jackson (Antonette), and Eric Armstrong (Lavonda); her grandchildren, Shantel Robinson, Wesley Martin, Jr., Victor Jackson, Jr., Robert Robinson, Jr. (Hien), Alicia Paschall (Patrick), Kendell Smith (Jessica), and Eric Armstrong, Jr.; along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
