Delores Laverne Cohen was born on January 16, 1930 to Mr. Lucius A. and Mrs. Leila Edwards in Lake City, Florida. She attended the public schools in Lake City and Jacksonville, Florida graduating from Old Stanton High School.
Delores accepted Christ in her life at an early age and became a faithful member of Greater Moncrief Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading her bible and preaching the gospel. She was last employed with Methodist Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Delores slept away peacefully on Sunday, August 11, 2019. She was preceded in death by her sons, Drew Woods and Aubrey Woods; father, Lucius Edwards; mother, Leila Edwards; brothers, Lucius Edwards, Arnold Edwards, Cleman Edwards, Cleathis Edwards and Jack Edwards; sisters, Nancy Mickey and Dorcas Allen.
Delores leaves to cherish her memories, her loving children, Gregory L. Woods, Vivica L. Shults and Leo Kenneth O. Woods (Carlette); grandchildren, Charles W. Shults, Kenneth O. Woods, II (Christina) and Brittany N. Woods; great grands, Tatiana L. Woods and Kennedi L. Woods; special friend, Deacon William Jordan and Gloria Hilliard; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many sorrowful friends.
