Donna Marie Louder

Donna Marie Louder was born on January 12, 1958, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Lenora Showers and James Louder. She was the eldest of three children.

Donna received her early education in private schools and graduated from Bishop Kenny High School located in Jacksonville Florida. She was a hardworking and independent woman who was deeply committed to both education and service. Immediately after high school Donna joined the National Guard while attending college, earning her bachelor’s degree in psychology with honors in just three years. She later continued her education at Nova University, where she earned a master’s degree in counseling.

Donna faithfully served in the military for 41 years. During much of her time in the National Guard, she worked at Northeast Florida State Hospital in MacClenny, Florida, where she dedicated 33 years as a mental health specialist. After her service at the hospital, Donna transitioned into full-time Army service, achieving the rank of E8 Master Sergeant before retiring from the military in 2017. Following her retirement, Donna remained an active owner of Showers A.B., Inc. Donna had a green-thumb. 

Throughout her life Donna was a devoted Christian and a faithful member at the Fire of the Word Ministries in Jacksonville, Florida. She was known for her active lifestyle and continued riding her bicycle up until her recent passing. Donna loved going to the movies and brought joy to every gathering with her creativity and sense of humor. Affectionately known as the “Game Master,” she enjoyed creating games for family and friends during special events and celebrations. She had a deep love for music of all genres and especially enjoyed attending throwback and old school concerts. Donna also loved to travel and explored many countries around the world including China, Amsterdam, and France.

Donna peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lenora Showers and James Louder.

Donna is survived by her beloved son, Orren Louder; two brothers, Anthony Louder and Alexander Showers; two nieces; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
