Dorothy Glenn Obituary

Mother Dorothy Mae Keys Glenn was born August 4, 1934 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Leroy Keys and Georgia P. Keys. She attended the local schools of Duval County.

Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age at West Friendship Baptist Church. She later became a faithful member of the Church of the Living God of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 37 years until her passing. She was the Mother of the Church. Mother Glenn and served on the usher board and senior choir. She retired from Pepsi Bottle after 39 years of employment.

Dorothy met the love of her life, the late Henry W. Glenn in 1954. In 1969 they were united in Holy Matrimony as husband and wife. They were happily married for 49 years.

On Thursday, August 20, 2020 Mother Dorothy Mae Keys Glenn answered the Master’s call and went home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry W. Glenn; father, Leroy Keys; sister, Ernestine Keys; and brother, Ethridge Anthony Keys.

Mother Glenn leaves to cherish her memories, seven children, Doris E. Davis (late Robert), Patricia A. Martin (late Richard), Darrell W. Keys (Betty), Ricky Glenn, Gregory R. Glenn, Gary Glenn and "Baby Girl" Wendy Glenn Boykin (Terry); her mother, Georgia P. Keys; brother, Randolph Proctor; sisters, Lillian Proctor, Diane Alatishe and Hope King; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grands; special nephew, Chancellor Lattimore; devoted friends, Mattie Williams; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.

Virtuous, Loyal, Loving, and Counselor as a Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grand-Mother, Aunt and Best Friend.  Months ago, you were within our presence and removed from us without preparation, unable to feel your touch, hear your voice, see your always beautiful smile, and enjoy meals made on Sundays with love. God needed an Angel. We will forever miss you and express the highest gratitude.
