Audrey Patricia Williams, 78, of Jacksonville, Florida, gained her wings and went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, in Jacksonville. She was born on March 27, 1945, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Arthur and Gladys Jackson.
Audrey, known for her loving and caring nature, will be deeply missed by her children, Michael Jackson, Arthur Young (LenTonia), Ira Williams III, and Jerry Williams. She was a cherished grandmother to Mario, Wesley, Kira, Breanna, and Deondre’, and a beloved great-grandmother to Phoenix, Elliott, Mario Jr., Ki’Mari, and Hunter. Audrey is also survived by her siblings, Cynthia Jackson, Arthur Lee Jackson Jr. (Marilyn), Sandra Hicks (John), Erick Jackson, and Marsher Boyd (Raymond), as well as her in-law, LaTonya Young. She leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family, and many sorrowing friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira T. Williams; parents, Arthur and Gladys Jackson; sister, Gwendolyn Jackson; and brother, William Mundle.
Audrey attended Douglas Anderson High School and later pursued higher education at Edward Waters College. She dedicated her career to the Duval County Public Schools, where she worked for thirty-five years, leaving a lasting impact on the community she served.
Audrey found solace and spiritual guidance at New Beginnings Outreach Ministries, under the leadership of Pastor Korey C. O'Neal Sr.
In her free time, Audrey was an active member of the Eastern Star and Zeta Phi Beta, two organizations that brought her joy and fulfillment.
Audrey Patricia Williams will forever be remembered for her loving nature, her dedication to education, and her active involvement in her community and organizations. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.
