Obituary

Eddie James Sanford, Sr. was born in Cordele, Georgia on November 6, 1956 to the late Marie Tolbert-Sanford. Eddie entered into his eternal rest on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.

Eddie graduated from Washington-Wilkes High School in 1974. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he retired as a Master Sergeant after serving 22 years.

Eddie enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, "tinkering" on his classic car, restoring his boat, raising his dog, Bella, watching television, and listening to music.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Andra Sanford; one son, Eddie James Sanford, Jr. (Lori); two step-sons, Irving Brown, and Clinton Austin (Jessica); one granddaughter, Alexis Rodriguez (Hector); one grandson, Eddie James Sanford, III; one great-granddaughter, London Montanez; four brothers, Benjamin Tolbert, Matthew Tolbert, Henry Lee Glenn, and Billy Wayne Sanford (Rose); two sisters, Linda Doughty (Joe), and Dorothy Miller; three special aunts, Nettie Merriweather (affectionately known as momma), Theron Jones, and Jimmiephine Sorrye; and a host of cousins, friends, nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Stephanie Foster (James) and Penelope Climons, and special nephew, Kendrick Stowers (Vickie); special friends, John Pope, Larry Bell, Nathaniel Franklin (Debbie), Andrew James (Darlene), and Lonnie Walker (Barbara).
