Edna Lorraine Vaughns, affectionately known as “Lorraine,” the Lord called her home on April 9, 2026, at the age of 47. Born in Mobile, Alabama, Lorraine later made her home in Jacksonville, Florida, where she built a life centered around love, family, and service to others.
Lorraine was a proud graduate of Fletcher High School and furthered her education at Concord University, where she earned her healthcare license and medical assistant certification. She went on to become the owner of Homecare Unlimited LLC, dedicating her life to caring for others with compassion and excellence.
Lorraine was truly the glue of her family—a beautiful, energetic spirit who brought light wherever she went. A true beach girl at heart, she loved the water, laughter, and being surrounded by those she cherished most. She was known for her charm, charisma, intelligence, and strong will.
Lorraine was fearless, dependable, generous, and full of life. Her bubbly and friendly personality made her unforgettable, but above all, she was a true “ride or die” for those she loved. She had a heart that made room for everyone. No matter what someone needed, Lorraine was there.
She was known for having the purest soul and was often described as the life of the party. She never chose sides—she brought people together. If the energy in a room was low, Lorraine had a way of lifting it instantly with her presence.
Lorraine was also known for her cooking and the way she brought people together through her gatherings. Whether it was a meal, a celebration, or simply being in her presence, she created moments that will forever live in the hearts of those she loved.
One of the many things her family will always hold close is how she would answer the phone with a warm, loving, “Hey, sweetheart.” That simple phrase captured who she was—gentle, loving, and always there.
Lorraine loved her children more than anything in this world. Though they lived in different places, her greatest wish was always to have all of her children together under one roof. Her love for her family knew no limits.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Vaughns. She leaves to cherish her memory her father, David Vaughns; her beloved five children, Mercedes Rogers, Eric Rogers, Ernesia Jordan, Ernest Jordan, and Darylina Watkins; her five grandchildren, Peyton, Ryleigh, Sage, Tallulah, and Ernest; her siblings, Dorothy Evans, David Vaughns, Patricia Vaughns, Joyce Eboigbe, and Victor Vaughns. Lorraine also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends whose lives she touched deeply.
