Elder Daniel Campbell, Jr. Obituary

Elder Daniel Campbell Jr. was the firstborn of seven to Superintendent Daniel Campbell Sr. and Mother MaeGoldie Campbell of Fellowship Church of God in Christ — now known as Greater Fellowship COGIC — on September 4, 1964. His heavenly birthdate is October 19th, 2025.

From an early age, Elder Campbell’s love for family, music, and God was evident. During his time at Robert E. Lee High School, he proudly served as drum major, leading with enthusiasm and excellence. His musical talent extended beyond the marching field of high school and college, as he mastered his natural skill of playing several wood and brass instruments (the sax was his fav), which he played with both local and national church bands, forming lifelong friendships through his gift of music.

Elder Daniel’s work ethic and leadership were shaped by his early employment experiences at McDonald’s on U.S. 1, KFC on Powers Avenue, and Rhodes Furniture. These opportunities opened doors that eventually led him to Atlanta, where he continued to grow in faith, leadership, and service.

A world traveler and true people person, Elder Campbell never met a stranger. His warm spirit, genuine kindness, and love for others left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.

Elder Campbell had the unique opportunity to experience both white-collar and blue-collar lifestyles — from corporate and government duties to construction and manual labor. His latest endeavors as an entrepreneur reflected his passion for helping others through coaching, consulting, training, and serving his delectable smoked barbecue.

He was deeply committed to serving and protecting others, a devotion shown through his years of faithful service as a National Adjutant with the Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Edward Robinson, Sr., Jurisdictional Prelate of Florida Central Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. Elder Campbell also provided spiritual guidance and encouragement to his home congregation, Greater Fellowship COGIC, to Connections 3N1 Ministries, as well as supported his wife’s commitment to The Potter’s House International Ministry (FEM) of  Jacksonville, Florida.

Elder Campbell’s love for family was one of his greatest strengths. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, children, grandchildren, parents, siblings, in-laws (whom he lovingly called “in-loves”), nieces, nephews, godchildren, godparents, godsisters, godbrothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends, neighbors, and the strangers who quickly became friends whom all will be expected to live love out loud! He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Christopher; granddaughter, Jayla; parents-in-love, Sammie and Maggie; brother-in-love, Carlos; nephew, Devin; and nephew, Darias, may they all rest in peace.

One of the most recent ministry events Elder Campbell invested his heart into was “Throwback Thursdays.”  “The Gathering,” in his own words, was where all are invited to come during their busy week to praise and worship God in song, finishing the week with total praise!

In honoring his passion through music, we will have “The Gathering” on Thursday evening, October 30, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at Southside Church of God in Christ. We will gather to praise and worship God in song, just as Elder Campbell would on Throwback Thursdays.

Thank you all for your kindness, love, and understanding as we honor Elder Campbell’s wishes. Yes, his earthly journey has ended, but his light will continue to shine not just this week but forevermore. His last verbal message was, “Trust the Process!”
