Elder Gardner Allison was born on February 4, 1941, to the late Nettie Ports in St. Augustine, Florida. He later moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he attended school in the Northern Area.
Elder Allison eventually relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, with his beloved mother. He cared for her selflessly until her passing, learning the values of strength, love, and family along the way.
After settling in Jacksonville, he joined Greater Faith Bible Church and received the gift of the Holy Spirit under the leadership of Elder Billy Brock, Jr. He served faithfully as a deacon, fulfilling his role as a steward of God.
Later in his Christian journey, he was ordained as a minister under the late Chief Overseer Herman Hinton of Philadelphia, PA, and was further elevated to the position of ordained Elder under the late Bishop Fred Brown of Jacksonville, FL.
After leading many souls to Christ, he founded New Beginnings Holiness Church in 2015, where he continued to minister the true word of God and draw others to Him.
Elder Allison's strong work ethic was also evident in his career as a handyman in the construction field. He retired from Flowers Bakery after many dedicated years of service.
Elder Gardner Allison was preceded in death by his mother, Mother Nettie Ports. He will be remembered by his wife of 31 years, Evangelist Nellie Allison, whom he called the love of his life. Evangelist Nellie Allison stood by him in both sickness and health.
His memory will also be cherished by his son, Jonathon Allison; daughter, Alonda Allison, and five loving stepchildren, whom he regarded as his own, Norma Brock (Bishop Billy), Daphne Simpo (Deacon Michael), Elder Cassius Wallace (Candace), Tammy Richards (Pastor Jerry), and Demetris Jackson. He will be remembered by his devoted grandchildren, Santoria Andrews, Kevin Jackson, Sierra Andrews, Ebony Wallace, Brittany Jackson, Keino Kemp Sr., Omari Kemp, Joshua Richards (Merica), Kayla Wallace, Gabriel Richards, Amber Wallace, Cashae' Wallace, Cassius Wallace, and Tyneisha Brock. His great-grandchildren were his pride and joy, Kameron Cue, Kaleb Cue, Mariyah Bethea, Geovoni Goodman, and Keino Kemp Jr. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Lovie Davis (Charlie); brother-in-law, Deacon Willie Williams (Diane); and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, and grieving friends.
