Elder Robert Wilcher, Jr. Obituary

Elder Robert James Wilcher, Jr. son of the late Robert and Lorene Wilcher, Sr. He was born September 23, 1944 in Jefferson County, Georgia. He grew up in a Christian home, and attended the public schools in Wadley, Georgia.

Robert James Wilcher, Jr. moved to Jacksonville, Florida in the 1970’s where he met and married Barbara Smith. They had four boys. He was a member of the Church of the Living God Pillar and Ground of the Truth Holiness Chapel. He was called into the ministry by God to preach the gospel in 1994. He moved his membership to Joy House Church of God, where he became Pastor, and served for a period of time.

He was called to rest on Friday, March 19, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lorene Wilcher, Sr.; brother, Willie Gene Wilcher; sister, Saddie M. Wilcher; sister, Irene Lewis; brother, Theodore Wilcher; brother, Charlie David Wilcher; and sister, Mattie Lucile Pringle.

Elder Robert James Wilcher, Jr. leaves to cherish his memories, his sons, Tyrone Wilcher, Robert Wilcher, III (Vonnetta), Ricky Wilcher (Mary) and Curtis Wilcher; brothers and sisters, Eugene Wilcher, Mattie Hill (John), Roger Wilcher (Paula), Rufus Wilcher, and Ruthie Cody (Allen); grandchildren, Kiara Wilcher, Ricky Wilcher, Jr., Curmyria Wilcher, and Curtis Wilcher, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and many sorrowing friends.
