Eleanor Brown

Ms. Eleanor Brown was born on December 23, 1943 in Ocilla, Georgia to the Luvenia Allen Golden and Matthew Brown. She graduated from Stanton Senior High School in Jacksonville, Florida. She furthered her education at Miami Dade College in Miami, Florida.

Eleanor was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook. She often times blessed her friends and neighbors with good home cooked meals. She was compassionate about helping others and would go out her way to help anyone; buying clothes and shoes for many of her students. She worked over 40 years as an Early Childhood Educator retiring from Headstart. She was very active in the church choir at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church until her health began to fail.

Eleanor took up her wings to heaven on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 1:19am at UF Medical Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luvenia Allen Golden and Matthew Brown.

Eleanor leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Roy Davis of Madison, Alabama; grandson, Darius Davis of Franklin, Tennessee; aunts, Ruby Rouse of Lawton Oklahoma and Irene Bell of Jacksonville, Florida; and a host of cousins and many sorrowing friends.
