Elvis Jenkins, Sr. Obituary

Elvis Vernon Jenkins, Sr. affectionally known as Big E was born on July 23, 1958, to Alvin and Audrey Jenkins in Jacksonville, Florida, He attended the local schools of Duval County.

Elvis was united in Holy Matrimony to Betty Jean Jenkins on May 7, 1988. He was employed at William Raines Senior High School where he retired after years of dedicated service. He was also employed by the International Longshoreman Association Local 1408. Elvis loved to cook and ride motorcycles.

Elvis Vernon Jenkins, Sr. answered the Master’s call on Thursday, April 4, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Audrey Jenkins; siblings, Alvin Jenkins, Jr., Phyllis Best and Rayfield Jenkins; and father and mother-in-law, Henry Sr. and Jessie Parker.

Elvis leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, Betty Jenkins; children, Elektra Jenkins and Elvis Jenkins, Jr.; father-in-law, Allen Daniel (Dora); sisters-in-law, Cynthia Jenkins, Yvonne Pope (Tony) of Jonesboro, GA, Cathy Bridges of Americus, GA, and Sherry Patterson of Atlanta, GA; brothers-in-law, Henry L. Parker, Jr. (Charlotte), Johnny Parker, Antown Parker, Allen Daniel of Hampton, GA, Roderick Daniel (Teresa), Broderick Daniel (Juvita) of Hampton, GA, James Pines (Charlotte) of Americus, GA and Danny Patterson (Linda); special nieces, Raquel Hall (Thomas) and Wendy Denise Holley; special aunts, Wendy Way (Boyd) and Mattie Jones; nephew, Julius Best, Jr.; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
