Emma Valentine Obituary

Emma Lee Vonia Valentine was born February 18, 1940 in Chambers County, Alabama. The daughter of James Askew and Gracie Bailey. Emma was a graduate from the Public Schools of Chambers County, Alabama before moving to Jacksonville, Florida.

The melanated universe of Emma’s complexion caught the eye of one James Valentine, shining like the sun of Emma’s world. During this certain union, two became one. A force of nature took its course as the seed fertilizes the garden of life. A seed of force that was given with love. And, out of this unification became Kenneth Warren Valentine, Sr. in 1964.

Emma was an essential worker during her first years in Jacksonville as a paraprofessional for the Duval County Public School Board. During that time Emma and James Valentine married in Charlton County, Georgia in 1970. Before Emma joined the elite force of Sears & Roebuck Company in 1972. After Sears & Roebuck Company closed in the late 1990’s. Emma, furthered her professional career by obtaining her CNA license through the Florida Community College of Jacksonville. She was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

After doing more than expected going above what other humans would consider to be their best effort in a lifetime. Not Emma! Mrs. Emma Valentine survive her husband’s passing in 1984. She also destroyed breast cancer twice in her lifetime! Mrs. Emma Lee Vonia Valentine escape diabetes by not having any of her limbs amputated and even after knowing her heart was not at full strength during her final days.
