Eric Vincent Shack, Sr. was born on December 9,1959 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Ceasar and Celestine Shack. He attended Stanton High School. In the late 70's he met the love of his life Patricia Jackson Shack a couple years later they married. From their blessed union two beautiful children were born Ericka and Eric Jr. Shack.
Eric devoted over twenty-three years of hard work and dedication as cook at The Beach Hut Cafe in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Eric accepted Christ into his life and joined Southside Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Edward Robinson, Sr.
Eric was well known for his storytelling, praising God, spreading the word God and making people laugh. He loved looking at the moon and stars, playing his music, singing, dancing and playing games on his phone. His favorite saying was “THANK YOU JESUS”.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Ceasar and Celestine Shack; and sister, Chandra Danita Shack.
Eric leaves to cherish memories a loving family, ex-spouse, Patricia Jackson Shack; two children, Ericka Shack-Gray (Troy) and Eric Shack, Jr. (LaTavia); six grandchildren, Angelo McKinney Jr., Ayasiah McKinney, Daylon Evans, Eternity Shack, Emeri Shack, and Emmir Shack; two great grandchildren, Nasiem Gregory Jr. and Ni'Aylah Gregory (on the way); siblings, Ceandrest Belt-Harris (Alpha), Andrea Phillips-Clements, Cecil Shack (Muriel),Micheal Shack, Duane Shack (Paula), LaTonia Gamble-Burns (Bernard), Demetrius Shack (Sandra) and Le’Andrew Shack (Kinsey); and host of nieces, nephews, other family members, friends and co-workers.
