The life of Eula Edwards Gamble began November 21, 1950, in Linden, Alabama. She was born to the late parentage of Alex and Margaret (Maggie Dell) Edwards.
Eula moved to Mobile, Alabama as a young adult. She was a member of St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church where Reverend Kelvin M. Wilson is the pastor in Whistler, Alabama.
Eula lived in Mobile, Alabama for over 55 years until she moved to Jacksonville, Florida in August 2025 to live with as she called her “my baby sister” Cindy and her family.
She enjoyed fishing, gardening, preserving pears, figs, and talking with friends. Later in life, Eula met Adolphus Rodgers, Jr. (deceased) who was a devoted companion.
Eula worked at International Paper Mill in Moss, Point, Mississippi for seventeen years until the plant closed down. Years later, she worked for Volunteers of America Southeast at Ringold Home to care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
On Thursday, January 2, 2026, Eula peacefully entered into eternal life. She is now reunited with those who preceded her in death which includes her parents, Alex and Margaret Edwards, and the following siblings, Allen Hill, Catherine Glover, Robert Edwards, and Mary E. Lundy.
Eula leaves to cherish her wonderful memories a devoted and loving sister who was her caregiver, LuCindy McKnight (Phillip aka “Bro”), Jacksonville, Florida; a host of nieces and nephews, LaShanda Marshall (Todd), Ebony and TJ Marshall whom she called “her babies”, Louise Edwards Williams of Staten Island, New York, Ashley Williams of Staten Island, New York, Lula Gatling (Ben) of San Antonio, Texas, Lillie Glover of San Antonio, Texas, Margaret Glover of Linden, Alabama, Heny “Bo” Glover of Linden, Alabama, and Randolph Glover (deceased) of Mobile, Alabama; cousins, Freddy McGrew of Beacon, New York and Mary E. Williams of Dover, Delaware; a host of very good friends in Mobile, Alabama, Eula McKinnis (goddaughter), Fannie Battles and her son Michael Penn, Bertha Louise Marshall, Gloria Perkins, Johnnie Mae Brown, Rose Bettis, Gertrude McKinnis, Reganal Poellnitz, Ronald Crimes, DeWitt and Rochelle Sims, Caesar and Alfredetta Howard, Alicia Timmons, Larita Robinson, Ray Fisher, Jr., and Linda Matthews.
