Ezell Goode Jr., affectionately known by family and loved ones as Junior, was born on February 26, 1960, in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Ezell Goode, Sr. and Mrs. Ethel L. Prelow.
A proud graduate of Jean Ribault High School, Class of 1979, Ezell soon answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. His time in service shaped his values of discipline, honor, and dedication.
In 1983, Ezell married Roberta Ray, and together they welcomed three children, Tarsha, Ezell III "Scrap”, and Jarmell.
Ezell enjoyed a successful career as a truck driver before retiring. He was a faithful Deacon of Love Missionary Baptist Church, where his quiet strength and generous spirit were felt by many.
Ezell was a man of many passions. He was a semi-pro football player in his younger years and a beloved Pop Warner football coach who impacted countless youth with his mentorship and love for the game. He had a deep love and appreciation for fishing, hunting, cars, rifles, and ammo, and was always up for a good action-packed movie or good ol' country western.
On Monday, July 21, 2025, Ezell departed this life and was reunited with his parents, Ezell Sr. and Ethel L. Prelow; his siblings, Dorothy Prelow and Kerry Goode; his grandson, Nigel Ezell Goode; and granddaughter, Janiyah Goode.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Tarsha Chester (Albert), Ezell Goode, III (Corlette), and Jarmel Goode (Natasha). His legacy continues through eleven grandchildren, Adriana, Ryker, Daquana, Tristan, Kayden, Angel, Isaiah, and Patrick; and four great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his loving siblings, Joann Miller, Lelia Whitfield, Agnes Prelow, Sylvester Miller, Adam Goode, Joseph Goode, and Timothy Goode; along with a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends.
Ezell Goode, Jr. lived a life full of strength, love, and legacy. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
