Mrs. Fannie R. Jenkins was born in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Otis and Claudia Howell on June 23, 1952. She was named after her paternal grandmother. The family later moved to South Jacksonville, Florida.
Fannie was united in Holy Matrimony to Frank Jenkins. She worked for Chartwell Dining Service until her health failed. She was a faithful member of Southside Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Edward Robinson, Sr. She served on Ward #9, the Usher Board, C. W. C. and the Women’s Sunday School Class. She loved to cook for her family and friends.
On Wednesday, July 14, 2021, she made a heavenly transition to her Savior surrounded by her devoted family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Claudia Howell; grandson, Larry McKenzie; and siblings, Charles Howell, Sr. and Alma Howell.
Fannie leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Patrice Hayes, Byron Jenkins, and Cedric Jenkins; daughter-in-law, Cherlyn Jenkins; grandchildren, Kent’e Hayes, Toney Tolbert, Sh’tara Johnson, Cedric Hayes, Shekima Sherrill, Jawad Hayes, Tyrone Taylor and Jammarion Sims; twelve great grandchildren; siblings, Otis Howell, Jr., Julia Howell, Daisey Williams (George), Sylvia Shade and Sebrina Lee (Ken); one aunt, Easter Mae; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and many sorrowing friends.
