Born December 18, 1951, in Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Spratling’s earthly life ended Friday, September 8, 2023. He was the son of Barbara M. Spratling and the late Fortson Spratling. He attended Glorious Bethlehem Temple as a child growing up in the Lord.
Spratt, as he was called, graduated from Wolfson High School, Class of 1969. Afterward he entered the United States Army where he traveled abroad and served in Korea, Italy and Austria, to name a few, before moving back to his hometown. After his tenure, he earned an AA Degree from FCCJ, and then established his business, Spratt’s Tile Repair. He was very knowledgeable and an idealist in his trade for over 40 years.
Spratt was politically active in public matters as well as the Small Business Owner’s Association.
Spratt was an avid sports fan. He loved to cook, play cards, laugh, joke around, dance and sing to old school music. His passion was to eat Oreo cookies, “Entenmanns” Louisiana Crunch Cake and drink Pepsi, all with a very big, handsome smile.
Spratt leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Mary Robinson Spratling; his five children, Jevonnie (Vanessa), LaTisha (Arthur), LaMontica, Shawn, and Chetara; four brothers, Rufus, Al (Cecilia), Derwin and Zachary (Elizabeth); his sister, Iris; a special uncle and aunt, Obie Lee and Lula Mae; 12 grandchildren, Jevonnie, CreShanda, Chanel, Victoria, Gavyn, Sayvion, Khalil, Arielle, Shonecia, Shane, Dae’shawn and Skylar; three great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
