Mr. Frank Houston, Jr. was born on April 6, 1935 in Burke County, Georgia to the late Annie Mae Brown-Houston and Frank Houston, Sr. He was raised in Aiken, South Carolina. He was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Mary Ann Ealy.
Frank received his education in Aiken, South Carolina Public School System. He joined Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida under the leadership of the late Leroy R. Phoenix.
In his early career, he owned and operated Houston Bar-B-Q, Houston Fish Market and Houston Exxon. He was a long-time member of the Lavilla Sportsman Club and MWW Social Club.
Frank retired from Pilot Freight Carrier as a Driver in 2000. He was a member of Local Union 512. After retirement he became the owner/operator of Houston Trucking.
Frank was called home to his eternal home by his Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 18, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Ealy; parents, Annie Mae Brown-Houston and Frank Houston, Sr.; and two sons, Franklin “Sambo” Houston and James Houston.
Frank leaves to cherish his memories, his three sons, Darnease Houston (Cheryl), Frank “Pooh” Houston and Ian Frederick all of Jacksonville, FL; three daughters, Rosyln Houston-Williams, (Richard), Lois Houston Blue and Andrea Houston Wright all of Jacksonville, FL; two-sisters-in-law, Betty Dicks of Jacksonville, FL and Mary Ealy of New Ellenton, SC; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many of sorrowing friends.
