Geraldine Byers Johnson

Mrs. Geraldine Byers Johnson was born October 18, 1947 in Jacksonville, Florida. Geraldine was united in Holy Matrimony to James Johnson for twenty-five years until his Death. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were avid travelers and toured seventeen countries and all fifty states.

Geraldine worked at the United States Post Office before retiring after many years. Geraldine was a member of the St. Paul Episcopal Church here in Jacksonville for many years.

On Friday April 4, 2025 Geraldine slept away peacefully. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Johnson; and her parents, James and Deloris Oliver.

Leaving to cherish her memories are her brothers, Theodore Byers (Doreatha), James Oliver (Mary) and Don Oliver; sisters, Janice Genwright, Claire Goodwin and Mary Deloris Oliver; her bonus daughter, Susan Gonzalez (Francisco); her bonus sons, James Johnson and Mark Johnson; grandchildren, Myles James Miller, Gabrielle Gonzalez, Emilio Gonzalez and Christopher Johnson; great grandchildren, Zhaki Caleb Miller; her only living aunt, Azalene Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
