Mother Gustavia Hughley second oldest, was born June 13, 1939, to the late James Elijah, and Christine Gage in Meridian Mississippi. Gustavia was a dedicated employee of General Motors for over 27 years in Trenton, NJ where she retired from. She moved to Jacksonville, Florida for warm weather. She couldn’t sit still, so she decided to go back to work and that is where she became employed at Jacksonville University. She became the mother at school to students, she cooked and baked cakes for them on special occasions.
In 1976 she accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and savior. She was a devoted and faithful member of Bethany Ministries where she served, as one of the mothers and Prayer Intercessor.
Mother Gussie was a loveable person with a big heart, and she made a lasting impression by her stilettos she wore on her feet along; with her style and grace. She was a beautiful soul, full of life and wise council. She was an avid homemaker and a loving and devoted mother. She enjoyed cooking and was known as the Queen of Facebook for posting pictures. She shared countless Sunday dinners with family and friends, this was one of the ways she expressed her love for others. Her hobbies were reading the Bible, baking, and shopping. She was loved by everyone and had a multitude of friends.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Eloise Felton; brother, James Gage; and daughter, Denise Hall Jones.
She leaves behind to celebrate her life, one sister, Edna Gage of Trenton, NJ; her children, Delphine Rawls of Philadelphia PA, Debbie Hall (Josh) of Jacksonville Florida, Pastor Dynel Miles (Pastor Victor) of Palm Coast Florida and Donald Hall of Jacksonville Florida; grandchildren, Orlando Barlow, Paul Ayers, Devion Ayers (Janine), Ayanna Geddes (Bryant), Latoya Willis, Scott Willis (Precious), Deneen Rawls, Paul Rawls and Christine Hall; great grandchildren, Charnay Irven, Dayon Rawls, Davion Willis, Kylen Willis, Rayven Green, Kingston Willis, Eliab Quinn Rawls, Dasiyah Rawls, Emeryk Rawls and Chase Barlow; great-great grandchildren, Naomi Bowers and India McCante; special friends, Evangelist Hazel Kimble and Evangelist Mattie Ferrell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones, she will be forever missed but never forgotten.
