Gwendolyn Wilson-Kearney Obituary

Gwendolyn Peterson was born to George and Ella Mae Peterson on February 3, 1949 in Albany Georgia. She received her education in the public school system of Albany, Georgia and Jacksonville, Florida graduating from William A. Raines High School class of 1968.

Gwen better known to her family as “Tulle”, was loving, kind and affectionate towards all that she encountered. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She was always telling us and making us laugh about the old-time favorite stories that happened to her during her lifetime from Georgia to Florida.

Gwen was employed by various jobs and later retired from Pine Castle in 2019. She loved taking care of her special angels at Pine Castle and New Heights of Northeast Florida.

Gwendolyn Wilson Kearney quietly answered the Master’s call on Monday, December 27, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father, George Peterson; two brothers, Tyrone “Bubba” Peterson and Errol Peterson; and her husbands, Alonzo Lee Wilson, Jr. and Ervin Kearney.

Tulle leaves to cherish her fond memories, her loving children, Kimberly Haywood, Adrian Peterson (Darlene), and Alonzo Wilson (Natasha); adopted daughter, Mia Stanley; 19 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; mother, Ms. Ella Mae Peterson; siblings, Billy C. Peterson (Roxanna), Sarah Thomas (Rudolph), LaVata Peterson, Mamie McLauren and Jacquelyn Shootes (Stanley); best friends, Emma Mitchell, Caroline Sanders and Jason “The Computer Guy”; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
