Jacquelyn Louise Smith was born February 17, 1950 on a Friday in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Jake Smith Senor and Melrose White. She received her formal education the local schools of Duval County. She furthered her studies and Jones College receiving her certified nurse’s certificate on June 14th, 1983. She was employed by various Nursing Home throughout Duval County.
Jacquelyn was a long-time member of St Joseph Missionary Baptist Church. She met and later married Burney Hallback in Jacksonville, Florida and they were married for 39 years.
Jacquelyn was preceded in death by her daughters, Annette Brinson and Miranda Burke Brown; grandson, Randy Smith; mother, Melrose Lumpkin; fathers, Jake Smith Senor and Willie C Lumpkin Senor; brothers, Jake Smith, Jr. and Willie C. Lumpkin, Jr.; and sister, Marion Bell.
Jacquelyn leaves many memories to be cherished in the hearts of loving family members, her husband of 39 years, Burney Hallback; children, Michael Smith (Lauritha), Jesse Brinson (Keshia), Alexander Brinson (Robin) and Dorothy Hallback-Fountain (David); grandchildren, Melrose Vereen (Sean), Michael Smith, Jacquelyn King (AnQuan), Ebony Jackson-Brown (Stanley), Antonio Harper, Justin Brinson, Arnesha Brinson, Tameka Dorisman (Enoise), Miranda Smith, Roland Phillips, Jr., Jesse Brinson, Jr., Jaylaan Jones, Alexis Brinson, Marion Smith, Manda Smith, Jakobi Brinson, Marqueis Smith, Machala Smith, Porche Wyche (Coy), Thesha Pope and Theodore Pope, III; twenty great grandchildren; one great, great, grandchild; four sisters, Catherine Grimmage, Rosemary Lumpkin, Judy Lumpkin -Maffett (Sam) and Jeanna; one brother, Ronald Black, Sr.; uncles, Andrew White, Thomas Matthews, Herman White, Ernest White and Evan Jones; aunts Carolyn Samuels and Jean Chavez; in-laws, Cornelius Hallback, Harry Hallback (Dolores) and Henry Scott; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other devoted friends.
