It is with both deep sorrow and cherished memories that we announce the passing of James Evans Perry, Jr., a beloved father, son, brother, and friend. James entered this world on March 25, 1976, born to Jacqulyn V. Perry and James Perry, Sr.
His early passion for technology and innovation led him to pursue and achieve an AA Degree in Computer Science from FSCJ and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Graphic Design from the University of North Florida. He carried this passion forward into a distinguished career, making his mark as a software engineer contributing significantly to companies like Knowledge Management, Inc., LSI, Inc., Data Architect, and Praxis Engineering, exemplifying the spirit of both an intrapreneur and entrepreneur. At the time of his passing, James was furthering his expertise through a Master's program at the North Dakota State University, with his sights set on a 2024 graduation.
James's legacy continues through his daughter, Laurielle Linda Perry; his devoted mother, Jacqulyn Perry; his father, James Evans Perry, Sr.; his siblings, John Perry (Nadine), Jason Perry, and Jacqueline Nicole Perry; and nephew, Alexander Channing Perry. His memory will also be fondly remembered by numerous relatives and friends whose lives he touched.
A man of faith, James dedicated himself to the Lord as a teenager and actively contributed to his church's media and technology ministries. Upon moving to Washington D.C., he found a spiritual home at McLean Bible Church, where he continued to foster his faith journey.
James departed from this life on Sunday, November 5, 2023, following an unexpected illness. His warmth, intellect, and spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
We take comfort in knowing that James is now at peace and his influence will continue to resonate in the lives of those he impacted. As we prepare to celebrate his life and honor his memory, we invite you to join us in reflection on the joy and wisdom he shared.
