James Young Obituary

James Young lovingly known as “Bunky” was born on October 13, 1936 in Folkston, Georgia to Horace and Retha Mae Young.

Mr. Young was educated and lived in Camden County. He later moved to Callahan, Florida where he met and married Elizabeth Brooks. While residing in Callahan he devotedly raised a family and worked for the Nassau Timber Company, until retirement.

On Wednesday, December 29, 2021, our Heavenly Father called him home. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth B. Young; daughters, Kellie Cherish Young and Edith Young; mother, Retha M. Young; father, Horace Young; brothers, Nathaniel Young, Lucious Young and Roy Lee Hamilton; and sister, Lena (Poochie) Young.

Bunky leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Reuben Young, Tony Young (Katrina), Christopher Young, James Brooks and Andrew Mitchell all of Florida; daughter, Annette Jones (Michael) of Clarksville, TN; brothers, Horace Young and Billy Young of Savannah, GA; sisters, Hattie Mae Young and Lily Bell Young of Savannah, GA; Retha Mae Young and Ollie Jones of Jacksonville, FL; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Gertrude Brooks of Callahan, FL, Mercedes Brown (Herbert) of Jacksonville, FL and Bertha B. White of Tampa, FL; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and family friends.
