Janet Marie Jones was born February 22, 1951 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Edward T. Williams, Sr. and Mildred L. Gunn-Williams. She was the fifth of seven children.
Janet attended Orange County Public School System in Orlando, Florida and continued her education at various educational institutions in Florida.
Janet was known for her contagious smile and kind heart, which caught the attention of her soulmate, Arthur Monroe Jones, Jr. They were happily married for forty-six years. As she loved and honored her husband, she dedicated her life to serving her community.
Janet was a director for the American Red Cross on the Northside and NAS Jax; and also, an HIV-AIDS Instructor. She obtained her medical certification because she loved helping people.
Janet was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church and served on several ministries, including the Usher Ministry and Nursing Ministry until her health failed.
On Friday, May 30, 2025, Janet transitioned into the arms of her Heavenly Father and reunited with her parents, Edward T. Williams, Sr. and Mildred L. Gunn-Williams; sisters, Brenda Joyce Harris, Marian Denies Hayes, Gloria Jean Johnson and Bertha Lee Williams; niece, Denise Lavon Miller; and nephew, Willie Damone Johnson, II.
Left to celebrate Sister Janet Marie Jones life and cherish precious memories, are a loving and devoted family; her husband, Arthur M. Jones, Jr.; step-children, Arthur M. Jones, III, Tiffany Shelton and Erica Jackson; godson, Jordon Weston (Debra, Mother); sisters, Barbara Miller; brother, Edward T. Williams, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Edward Jones (Trudy), Paul Jones (Karen), Michael J. Jones and Eric J. Jones; sister-in-law, Florence Yvette Thomas (Randy); grandchildren, Daysia Price Jones, Darius Price Jones, DeAndre Price Jones, Brandon Jones, Kyrie Jones, Jasmine Jones, and Jeremiah Jones; great-grand, Karter Joyner; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
