A Time to be Born: Janice Patricia Lee, affectionately called “Slim”, was born November 15, 1955 to the late Ms. Ola Mae Lee and the late Mr. Bennie Lee in Jacksonville Florida.
A Time to Embrace: Janice’s Christian training began at an early age under the guidance of her mother. She accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at West Friendship Baptist Church in Jacksonville Florida under the leadership of Reverend Richard Wilson.
A Time to Learn: Janice was educated in the Duval County Public School System. She then moved to Newark New Jersey to begin her professional career.
A Time to Serve: She worked at General Motors for 7 years before changing careers because her love for kids and became a Crossing Guard at Grove Street Elementary School in Irvington New Jersey until retirement.
A Time to Transition: Ms. Janice (Slim) was blessed to live a rich 65 years; she fought a good fight and kept the faith. On Sunday November 22, 2020 at 5:50pm she made her final move from mortality to immortality, leaving family and friends to cherish memories from her life. She preceded in death by her dear mother, Ola Mae Lee; father, Bennie Lee; sister, Bennie Pearl Lee; nephew, Shaun Lee; great niece, Natalia Hall; and god sister, Johnnie Reliford (Dee Dee).
A Time to Cherish: Her homegoing will be celebrated and memories cherished by her loving, godson, Chandler Miller of Jacksonville, FL, Jackie Hall Lee Moss (Johnathan) of Jacksonville, FL, Herman Lee of Newark, NJ, Bryon Lee (Nora) of Jacksonville, FL and Donna Lee “Sports” of Jacksonville, FL. She leaves to cherish and honor her memory one loving, caregiving and supportive niece, Brenda Hall of Jacksonville, FL, Latrena Hall-Smith of Jacksonville, FL, LaShawn Lee of Jacksonville, FL, Sharneice Kirkland of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Alphonso Hall of Charlotte, NC, Ferrell Graham of Jacksonville, FL and Donte Sampson of Jacksonville, FL; and host of cousins, and many friends including her family and friends on Woodside Avenue.
