Jerry Robinson affectionately known as “Ghost” and “Money” was born to the late Carrie Simpo and Lun Robinson on August 5, 1941 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born in simple beginnings. He was educated in to public school system of Duval County. He was a high school graduate of Douglas Anderson class of 1960. He served in the United States Army where he would begin his life of traveling abroad and serving his country. Jerry later was honorably discharge from his military duties. He would return to Jacksonville, Florida to start his own family.
Jerry was a loving father and family man. Jerry would later work with his brothers to start a successful home remodeling business. Jerry was known on the Southside of Jacksonville for his ability to always help a friend in need. Jerry was respected for his peaceful and loving character, and willing to always lending a helping hand. Jerry loved reading and understanding the Bible with his siblings. He loved to listen to Gospel music. Jerry weekly visited bible studies to understand God’s word. He would give someone his last, Jerry would give you the shirt off his back. He was a man of great faith Jerry enjoyed finding value in antique items and he believed that one person’s trash is another person’s treasure. Jerry received Christ as his personal Lord in savior in adult years. Jerry was a man of strength, love and courage.
Jerry was preceded in death by his both parents; his brother, Norman Bernard (Teddy) Taylor, Woodrow (Woody) Grissett, Robert (Bob) Taylor and Herbert Taylor; sisters, Arlene Taylor (Threinen) and Pamela Taylor.
He leaves to cherish his memories, one brother, Lloyd Taylor; one sister, Gloria Taylor Reid; three children, two sons, a daughter and son-in-law, Terry Robinson , Sherrell Attaway (Damien) and Garry Robinson; six grandchildren, Damieona Attaway, Damiela Attaway, Jordan Brown Robinson, Sadai Wright Robinson, Jazmyne Robinson and Destiny Attaway; a special friend, Marisel Lugo (Lugo); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
