John Lamar, Jr. Obituary

John Henry Lamar, Jr. was born January 27, 1935 in Aiken, South Carolina to the late John Henry Lamar, Sr. and Pauline Lamar. He went home to be with the Lord peacefully Tuesday, October 12, 2021. John was united in Holy Matrimony to Sarah A Lamar but later divorced. To this union they were blessed with one son and seven daughters.  

At the age of 18 John joined the United States Airforce where he was a flight engineer for 21 years. After serving with the United States Airforce John had the opportunity to work with Miller Electric as a certified electrician and later became a professor at Florida State College at Jacksonville.

In 2015 John was Baptize and a member of Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church. John has a passion for golf and love watching Tiger Woods in his golf tournaments.

He leaves to cherish his memory one son and seven daughters, Fernando Lamar Sr. (Sharon), Patricia Lamar, Pauline Lamar, Brenda Cooper (Lance) decease, Anna Stribling (Alvin), Linda Brown (Ernest), Tammi Dreher (Carey), and Denise Lamar. John has one sister, Pauline Rolland; and two nieces, Carolyn Rolland and Shelia Hunter; fourteen grandchildren, Lisa Sinclair (Craig), Andre Lamar (decease), Anthony Newsome, Andrea Lamar, Ariel Lamar, April Cooper, Kevin Wright, Fernando Lamar II, Raysean Lamar, Shawnea Lamar, Cornelius Taylor II, Daryl Graves II (Taylor), Whitney Payne, and Briana Miller; thirteen great grands; two great great Grands

John was a loving and caring father who will truly be missed and cherished in our hearts forever.
