Joseph Lee Higdon

Joseph Lee Higdon, departed this world on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on December 4, 1955, in Jacksonville, Florida, Joseph was a cherished son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose spirit touched the lives of many.

Joseph was the beloved son of Willie Higdon and Carethea Times. He grew up in Jacksonville, where he completed his education in the Duval County Public Schools and proudly graduated from William A. Raines High School. His time in Jacksonville laid the foundation for a life dedicated to family and community.

In addition to his many roles, Joseph served his country with honor in the United States Air Force and later in the Air National Guard, earning an honorable discharge. His commitment to service exemplified the values he carried throughout his life, marked by integrity, dedication, and love for those around him.

Joseph is survived by his son, Terrance Lee Higdon, and his beloved grandchildren, Terrance Higdon, Jr., Terriaun Higdon, and Trenell Higdon, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his cherished siblings, Sylvia Stanfield and Morris Jones, along with his nephew, Carlos, and a special friend, Vanessa. Joseph leaves behind a host of other loving family members and friends, all of whom will remember him for his kindness, warmth, and unwavering support.

While Joseph was a private man, he had a profound impact on everyone he met. His life was filled with moments of joy, laughter, and love that will resonate in the hearts of his family and friends forever. Joseph’s legacy is one of strength and gentle wisdom, and he will be deeply missed.
