Joshua Sales Obituary

Joshua Darnell Sales was a man of high energy, legendary laughter, and a spirit that simply could not be ignored. On May 5, 2026, he moved on from this life, leaving a void that can only be filled by endless stories, sharp fashion, and a legacy of joy.

His memory will be cherished and carried forward by his loving wife, Renata Sales; his mother, Sharon Toalton (Timothy); his father, Jerome Sales (Patricia); his grandmother, Versa Sales; and his grandfather, Daniel Kelly. He is also survived by his siblings, Justin Pinkney, Bernotta Linder, Sarika Miller, Annie Toalton, Dominic Macer (Mi’Lisa), George Macer, Trevon Navarez and Lester Dix (Terryl); as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Joshua has gone to join those who preceded him: his beloved son, Azari’Yah Sales; his sister, Shantel Patrice Ennis; his grandfather, Wanzia Sales; and his grandmother, Annie Mae Kelly.

The Sound of Joy: If you knew Joshua, you knew his laughter. It was more than just a sound; it was his calling card. He possessed a distinctive laughter that stood out from any other—it was legendary. You didn’t even have to see him to know he was there; the moment that unmistakable, boisterous sound filled the air, you knew exactly who it was. It was so incredibly infectious that you couldn’t help but join in, even if you didn't know the joke. His laughter was a gift that served as a constant reminder to never take life too seriously.

Style and Substance: Joshua was a man who held a true belief in his Nazarite faith. A "jack of all trades," he was educated in the Florida school system and later attended the Tulsa Welding School, where he applied his natural talent and fierce work ethic.

He truly had a heart of gold—the kind of man who would give his last dollar or the shirt off his back. However, everyone knew that when Joshua stepped out the door, he was going to be sharp. He lived for fashion and took immense pride in his style; from his head down to his toes, he was always "clean."

Joshua loved his family and cherished their gatherings, always ready to drop everything for a good crab boil. He was a dedicated fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars and never turned down a lively debate; he was a man who stood his ground and spoke his mind with conviction.

His soul was most at home near the water. While he loved fishing, his favorite moments were the quiet ones: long walks on the beach with his wife or "Netflix and chill" nights at home.

A Light Never Dimmed: Joshua’s presence was a light that refused to be dimmed. He was authentic, he was loving, and he stayed true to himself until the very end. We will miss his voice, his sharp wit, and that world-class laughter, but we carry his spirit in our hearts forever.

Rest in Peace, Joshua. You stood tall, stayed true, and loved well. Don’t worry, we’ll keep the crabs boiling for you.
