Juanita McGriff

Ms. Juanita McGriff was born on November 17, 1957 in Finelyson, Georgia to Emma Jean McGriff and the late John F. McGriff, Sr.

She attended local schools and graduated from William M. Raines in 1976.

Juanita had a passion for children. She worked at Northside Center for Creative Learning for 25 years and Little Scholars Daycare for 8 years before retiring.

Juanita was a faithful and dedicated member of St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church. She served on the Senior Ministry, Single Ministry and was a member of District 10. She generously gave her time to a wide variety of projects. She was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan through and through. Juanita’s favorite scripture was Psalms 23.

Juanita earned her wings and entered heaven on Sunday, August 24, 2025. She was preceded in death father, John F. McGriff, Sr.; and brothers, John F. McGriff, Jr., and Freddie L. McGriff.

She leaves to cherish fond memories sons, Jordan L Daniels and Ishmael J. Isaac; a loving and devoted mother, Emma Jean McGriff; brothers, Anthony McGriff (Serall) and Gregory L. McGriff; sisters, JoAnne McGriff-Myers (Aubrey) and Geraldine McGriff-Smith; sister-in-law, Debbie McGriff; aunt, Emma Mae Harris; uncle, L.P. Miller; a host of nieces, nephews, Italy, Dominque, Miriam, Rachael, Dennis II, Cleveland III, Anthony Jr., DeQuan, Gregory Jr., Lamarrion, Sabrina, Terrell and Darien; great nieces; great nephews and many cousins and host of friends and acquaintances. Devoted friends, Claudia Flagler, Pat Presley, Mrs. Banks, Patricia Dobson, Patricia Scantling, Suzanne Brown and a special bond with her cousin, Ozzie Whitehurst.
