Katherine Joan Robinson

Katherine Joan Robinson was born May 29, 1951 to Robert Roberts and Sallie Roberts in Jacksonville, Florida. She graduated from Matthew W. Gilbert High School Class of 1969. She attended college at FCCJ.

Katherine was married to Wilbert Robinson for 50 years. She was employed with Blue Cross Blue Shield for 36 years until she retired. After retirement she went on to work part time for the City of Jacksonville Supervisor of Elections until her passing. She was an active member of Greater Payne Chapel AME Church where she has been a member since birth. She was a member of various boards and ministries including; the Intercessory Prayer Ministry, Stewardess Board, Claudia Spencer Missionary Society, YPD Director, Pillars of Faith, Sunday School Teacher, Choir, Overseer of the Food & Clothing Ministry, and ICARE. Eastern Conference involvement includes PME Director of Jones/Farnell Area and Silver Sister. She enjoyed spending time with her family, working in her garden, traveling, volunteering, and cooking.

Katherine departed her Earthly life on Sunday, May 9, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sallie Roberts and Robert Roberts; brothers, Lonnie and Richard Roberts; and sister, Ella Johnson.

Katherine is survived by her husband, Wilbert Robinson of 50 years; children, Wilbert Rodney Robinson (Catrenna), Ryan Robinson, Katrina Hitchman (Marlon), Kelli Robinson, Victoria Roberts and Brittany Roberts; four sisters, Glorian Jordan, her twin Nancy Williams (Ronald), Sharon Oliver (Otis), and Janice Beard (Julius); sister-in-law, Lorraine Roberts; eight grandchildren, Arriel, Chad, Keyonna, Cameron, Kyerra, Jordan, Jayden and Ryanna; two great-grandchildren; an aunt; uncle; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many sorrowing friends.
