Keith Stroy Obituary

Born on October 14, 1965, in Jacksonville, Florida, Keith was a beacon of light from the moment he entered this world, the beloved son of Rufus Stroy and Ella Walker. His roots ran deep in Jacksonville, where he formed lifelong connections and contributed to the community that shaped him.

Keith’s life took a new direction on July 20, 1996, when he married his sweetheart, Judy Stroy. Together, they combined a beautiful family. His dedication to his family was unwavering, and he took great pride in his roles as a husband, father, grandfather, relative, and friend.

Education was important to Keith, and he was a proud alumnus of Duval County Schools, graduating from Paxon Senior High School in 1983. Following his academic pursuits, Keith served his country with distinction in the United States Navy and Army, embodying the values of service and duty throughout his life.

For over twenty-eight years, Keith was a dedicated employee at Univar, where he was respected for his work ethic, integrity, and commitment. His colleagues will remember him for his unwavering dedication and the kindness he extended to everyone he met. Outside of work, Keith's life was guided by his faith, a source of strength and inspiration that he leaned on daily. His love for God was a cornerstone of his existence, and he lived each day with gratitude, always recognizing where his help came from.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Nathan Walker, his sister Mary Walker, his nephew Darryl Sumpter, and his dear friend, Arthur Sumlar. Yet, in the face of such loss, he remained a steady source of strength and support for his family and friends.

Keith is survived by his devoted wife, Judy Stroy, daughters; Najla Bessent, Nichelle Glover (Ebony), and Khadijah Stroy; grandchildren, Destiny, ForEver, Alexander, Tito, and Khalia. His extended family includes his sister, Willie Mae Murkey (Stanley), his father and mother-in-law, Henry and Gloria Reaves, and a host of in-laws: Tracey Ramey-Sheppard, Christopher Goshay (Sibrina), Patrick Washington (Dee), Kenley Reaves, Amzie Goshay (Sebrina), Felisha Davis (Manteen), Anita Gary-Smith (James), Alice Brown (Walker), Mary Ann Smiley and Jeffrey Gary (Bridgette). Keith also leaves behind his best friends, Carlos Jamison and Willie Moore, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who mourn his passing and celebrate his life.

Though Keith has left this earthly realm, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. As we say farewell, we take comfort in the knowledge that he has been reunited with his loved ones who have gone before him, and that his life, full of love and dedication, will continue to inspire us all.
