Kenneth Tyrone Johnson, born on May 16, 1962, in Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully in the same city on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the age of 63. A lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Kenneth was known for his warm spirit and deep love for his community.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Shukriyyah Mathis, and a large, cherished family including his siblings, Sandra E. Newman, Veronica V. Albertie, George Holman (Janice), Spencer Holman, Cathy Johnson, Ezell Cummings, Jr., Terrie Alston (Desmond), Daniel Cummings, Diane Frazier (Tony), and Dorothy Ann Amos. He also leaves behind his aunts, Corine Addison, Brenda Webb (George), Gussie Garvin, and Shirley Albertie Turner; uncles, Henry Hayes Jr. (Barbara), Joseph Albertie, Jonas Albertie (Ruthie), and Charles Albertie (Beverly); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives who will miss him dearly. Kenneth's passing was preceded by his father, TJ Johnson, and his mothers, Mae Eva Johnson and Ruby E. Cummings.
Kenneth's favorite pastime was spending quality time with his family and friends, a hobby that reflected his extroverted and loving nature. His presence at gatherings was always a source of joy and comfort to those around him.
Kenneth's life and memory will be celebrated by all who knew him, leaving a legacy of love and companionship that will not be forgotten.
