Kevin Northington Obituary

Kevin Douglas Northington, 63, of Jacksonville, Florida, and originally from Westhampton Beach, New York, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 13,2025 in the care of his loving partner, Cheryl Majdecki.

Born January 21,1962, Kevin was a graduate of Westhampton Beach High School. After high school he chose to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy. He traveled the world for six years before being honorably discharged. After leaving the Navy, Kevin was employed by the City of Jacksonville where he recently retired at the age of 59. He purchased a blue Mustang as his retirement car which he thoroughly enjoyed. You could hear him coming from miles away. Fishing was a favorite pastime from childhood into adulthood. While retired he enjoyed grilling and started gardening as a hobby.

Kevin remained in Jacksonville, Florida where he met the mother of his children, Genia Northington. Together they had one son, Kevin Alexander Northington, who married his daughter-in-love, Terquia and had one daughter, Shauna Northington. He was also a loving stepfather to Tinisha Scott and husband, Ralph Scott.

Kevin was affectionately known as “K- Pa”, grandfather to grandsons Ayden Northington, Karter Northington, Bryson Northington, Carmelo Hunt and Cayson Hunt. He recently welcomed his first granddaughter, Ariyah Elise Grace Northington into his heart. He was the step grandfather to Jarius and Jaleah Scott.

Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Shirley Northington of Westhampton Beach, New York.

He is survived by his siblings, Charles Northington of Southampton, New York, Kathy Northington of Westhampton Beach, New York, and Mark Northington of Brookhaven, New York.

He is survived by his aunt, Paulette Lewis of Clarksville, Tennessee, Shirley Jackson, wife of Carl Jackson, deceased, of Riverhead, New York and Marshall and Susan Jackson of Springfield, Ohio. One niece, Carmen Northington, of California, one great niece and nephew, Jensen Wharton and husband, Ian, great-great nieces Lavender and Meridian Wharton and great, great nephew, Kyren Wharton all of California. He is further survived by many cousins and many longtime friends.

The Northington family and Cheryl Majdecki would like to extend our sincere thanks to Hospice and all the caregivers who provided support and care to the family during this time.
