King David Wright, Sr. “Duke” was born on August 23, 1944 to Dan and Charlotte Wright. He attended the Public Schools of Duval County.
King was a painter, employed by Homes Beautiful Construction for many years before working for himself.
King accepted Christ at an early age and attended Faith Tabernacle of Praise Ministry under the leadership of Dr. Larry Mitchell and Dr. Bonnie Mitchell.
King was United in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Loretta Badger on April 13, 1985, two sons were born to this union.
King made his eternal transition on Saturday, August 1, 2020. He was preceded in death by parents, Dan Wright and Charlotte Wright; son, Gerald Wright; brother, Wilbert Wright; and sisters, Catherine Sanders, Ethel Lee Wright and Doris Monroe.
Duke leaves to cherish his loving memories, wife of 35 years, Loretta Badger-Wright; children, Sandra Wright, King Wright, Jr, David Cobb (Waltina), Tarakara Lang (Deatry), Kaven Wright, and Kyran Wright; siblings, Janie Wright and Gerald Wright (Marion); mother-in-law, Thelma Badger; sisters-in-law, Glenda Jones (Bobie) and Cartonya Badger; brother-in-law, Norris Simmons; grandchildren, Shaquana, Diamond, Diamonique, Giavanna, Sharif, Aisha, Lorenzo, Clarissa, Carlik, Keyanna, Devinair, Darlene, Justin, Jamaine, Davion, Carnail, Dekari, Kaven Jr, and Sydney; 15 great grands; goddaughter, Amber Avery; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends amongst them, Naomi Moon.
