On the evening of Saturday, September 5, 2020, Lance Elmore Cooper peacefully began his Homegoing Journey.
Lance was born April 24, 1952 to the late Roosevelt Cooper, Jr. and Mary Lee Cooper in Jacksonville, Florida. Lance graduated from Samuel Wolfson High School in 1970. He enlisted and served in the United States Navy. He then worked at the Army Corp of Engineers retiring with 34 years of service and received numerous awards including The Department of The Army Achievement Medal.
Lance was well known in the community and made many friends wherever he went. He was a devoted husband, loving father, brother, uncle and a true friend. He touched the lives of numerous people and will truly be missed and cherished in our hearts forever.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Brenda Cooper; two children, Bernard Torres and April Cooper; two grandchildren, Inala Bryant and Liam Williams; three brothers, Anthony Cooper (Mercita), Barry Cooper (Chris) and Dana Cooper (Jackie); three sisters, Iris Green, Renea Watson (James) and Sheila Cooper-Canty (Sumner); one sister, Debbie Cooper preceded him in death.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to include a devoted friend, Robert Smith.
