Latanya Ann Brown Hendrix was born on July 13, 1958 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Joe and Curley Brown. She attended the local schools of Duval County graduating from Jean Ribault High School class of 1976. In 1980 she received her Bachelor Degree in Political Science from Purdue University in Indiana. Latanya played in the symphonic and jazz band. She served in the United States Airforce for several years.
Latanya worked for OptumRX for several years. She was a member of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church and active in the Sunday School Program. Her favorite hobbies included coloring and solving various puzzles.
Latanya Ann Brown Hendrix answered the Master’s call on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe E. Brown; her mother, Curley D. Brown; husband, Carl Hendrix; and mother-in-law, Inez J. Hendrix Truitt.
Latanya leaves to cherish beautiful memories, her son, Darnell Hendrix; siblings, Cordero A. Brown, Sr. (Marvette), Stephanie Bartley, and Arnell D. Brown (Tamara); in-laws, Larry Hendrix, Sr. (Lisa); aunts and uncles, Frances Carter, Marjorie Madison, James and Janie Sutherland and Cora Scott; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
