Mr. Lee Roy Hopkins, Jr., affectionately known as “Junior,” was born on April 13, 1969, in DeLand, Florida, to Lee Roy Hopkins, Sr. and Jessica Hopkins. At an early age, he relocated to Tallahassee, Florida, where he attended Leon High School.
Lee was preceded in death by his father, Lee Roy Hopkins, Sr.; his grandmother, Louise Cooks Matthews; and an aunt and uncle on his mother’s side of the family.
Mr. Hopkins dedicated many years of hard work and service as a construction worker in Jacksonville, Florida, where he became known for his strong work ethic, resilience, and commitment to providing for those he loved.
Most importantly, Lee accepted Christ as the head of his life and loved God wholeheartedly. He openly shared his faith and love for the Lord through everyday conversations and social media posts, allowing others to witness his unwavering devotion to God. No matter the circumstances he faced in life, his faith remained steadfast.
Lee Roy, affectionately known as “Junior,” loved people deeply and cherished his children and family. His presence, humor, conversations, and love will be remembered by all who knew him.
On May 4, 2026, Lee answered the Master’s call and entered into eternal rest.
Lee leaves to cherish his memory his four beloved children, three daughters, Ivory Hopkins, Jessica Hopkins, Lushawndria Hopkins; one son, Karon Hopkins; his loving mother, Jessica Hopkins; two loving sisters, Carmalita L. Hawkins and Lillian Hopkins; his brothers, Jack Hopkins (Regina) and Juan House (Monay), affectionately known to Lee as his “Little Big Brother”; his cousin, Kendra (Velisha) Whitlock, who was raised alongside him and shared a bond more like that of a sister and brother; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.
Though his earthly journey has ended, the love he shared, the faith he carried, and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
