Mother Lena Evelyn Jordan a lifelong resident of the Kings Ferry Community, transitioned peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2020 at Life Care Center of Hilliard at the age of 90. She was born January 12, 1930 in Kings Ferry, Florida to the late John Hardy Thompson, Sr. and Ernestine Baker. She received her early education in Nassau County. She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at an early age, joining and being baptized at the Mount Olive Baptist Church; where she attended faithfully until her relocation to West Jacksonville Rehabilitation, Jacksonville, Florida.
Mother Jordan was united in Holy Matrimony to the late James E. Jordan, Sr. for 46 years. To this union they were blessed with six children. She was a very quiet individual with a loving heart, who enjoyed working outside with her flowers and plants, listening to gospel music and loving on her grandchildren. She was a great mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, and her presence will be greatly missed by her loved ones.
Preceding her in death, along with her parents and husband; one son, Michael Jordan; three brothers, James Thompson, Eddie Thompson and John Hardy Thompson, Jr.; one sister, Bernice Elaine Thompson; and two grandchildren, Maria Johnson and Daniel White.
She leaves to cherish and love her memory, a loving and devoted family, children, Leatrice Moses (William), Ann Mitchell, James Jordan, Jr., Faye White (Ralph) and Carol Jordan; sisters, Dorothy Richo, Edna Brown, Thelma Albertie, Jereline Williams (Lawrence), Grace Mitchell (Charles), Willie Mae Ewing (John) and Katrina Davis (Granderson); brothers, George Thompson (Elizabeth), Sammie Thompson (Kay), Willie Thompson (Eva) and Kalvin Thompson (Erin); grandchildren, Sonya Davis (Issac), LaTasha Moses, William A. Moses, Latoria Jordan, Keith Jordan, Nicolas Jordan, Marci Jordan, LaShunda Mitchell, Jovan White (Mia), Donovan Lofton and Destiney Spatcher; seventeen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Verdell Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowful friends.
