Leroy Byrden Obituary

Leroy Byrden was born to the union of the late Roy Alvin Byrden and Estelle Byrden on March 9, 1960, in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended the local Public Schools in Duval County including Spring Park Elementary, Landon Jr. High and Englewood Senior High where he graduated.

He was known by his nickname “Butch”, and his favorite nick name “Big Papa”. He had a love for Construction work and Cooking. He moved to White Springs, Florida in 1998 where he met and married Carrie Frances (Marvalene) Carter.

Butch will be remembered for his love of cooking, and his May Day Events and always trying to help his friends.  He was active in the church. 

Leroy was deeply loved and leaves to forever cherish his memory his mother, Estelle Byrden; children, Leroy Byrden, Leon Boykin and Kelvin Harris; one granddaughter, a girl; his siblings, Ora Byrden, the late Stephanie Monquie Byrden Jackson, George Byrden (Elizabeth) and Roy Eddie Byrden (Minister Renee); living aunts, Myrtle Norman, Alice Cooper, Tami Harris, Debbie Norman, Alice Faye Norman, Pamela Norman, Lillie Hunter (Osborne Pierce), Sylvia Demps (Jack), Geraldine Byrden (Earnest) and Shirley Price; deceased aunts, Mary  Johnson, Constance Grimsley, Edna Gardner, Betty Hayward, Julia Norman, Isadora Cowart, Shirley Anderson, Geraldine Byrden (Alvin) and Geraldine (Otis); living uncle, John Arthur Herring; deceased uncles, Carl Norman, Darryl Norman, Dwayne Norman, Clifford Norman, Robert Norman, Jr., Otis Byrden Sr., Alvin Byrden Jr., Earnest Byrden and R. J. Price; his late grandparents, Connie “Little Mama” Norman, Robert Norman and Lucy “Bama” Byrden and Alvin Byrden Sr.; nieces, Antwanna Brown (Reigard), Tyshell Franklin, Jenecia Byrden, Jamya Byrden and Taneshia Scott; nephews, Antonio Lewis, Jr. and George Franklin; and great nephew, Demetrius Franklin.

Special thanks and love to Robert Norman, Angela Newton, Antonio Lewis, Sr., the late Earl and Keith. Special love for his Florida, White Springs and Georgia Family. A loving host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
