Lillian Hightower Obituary

Lillian Belle Hightower, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, slept away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of 89. Born on May 2, 1936, in Macon, Georgia, Lillian was the cherished daughter of Jessie Jackson and Annie Mae Daniels. She was a beacon of love and strength in her family, and her legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of everyone she touched.

Lillian lived a life full of purpose and compassion, dedicating herself to the service of others as a Registered Nurse. Her commitment to caring for those in need was a true reflection of her generous spirit. She held a special place in the community, and her nurturing nature left an indelible mark on many lives.

She was a devoted mother to her children, Shaun (Megan), Larniece (Lewis), and Terrance, guiding them with love and wisdom. Lillian’s heart swelled with pride for her family, which expanded over the years to include her grandchildren, Michael, Tamisha, Quannisha, Shaun (Nikki), Jeron, and Melvin (Emily). Lillian's legacy continues with her great-grandchildren, D’Amisha (Mack), Jamesha, Ladasia, Ah’Nesty, Bryson, Melvin, Royal, and Phoenix, along with her great-great grandchildren, Myla, Myka, McKailyn, Mack, and Ja’Nell.

Lillian was preceded in death by her beloved father, Jessie Jackson; her mother, Annie Mae Daniels; her devoted daughter, Michelle; and her cherished grandson, Frederick. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the incredible life she led and the love she shared.

In addition to her professional and maternal roles, Lillian found joy in her hobbies. She loved to cook, ensuring that her loved ones were always fed and nurtured. Her passion for gardening allowed her to cultivate not only beautiful plants but also a sense of tranquility and warmth that enveloped her home. Additionally, her love for her pet birds brought her immense joy, as they filled her life with their songs and presence.

Lillian’s life was a testament to resilience, love, and devotion. Her warm spirit and kind heart will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members who will carry her memory forward.

As we say goodbye to Lillian Belle Hightower, we celebrate her extraordinary journey, her unwavering love, and the lasting impact she made on all of us. Rest in peace, dear Lillian; you will be missed, but your spirit will live on through all of us.
