Londyn Faith Embery was born on Monday, November 12, 2012, to Nelson L. Embery Jr. (Antwanette) and Alexiya Nix (Antonio) in Valdosta, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Clarence “Bubba” Alexander.
Londyn leaves behind her parents, Nelson Embery Jr., Alexiya and Antonio Nix; four grandparents, Craig and Sonya Russell, Joyce Hicks, and Stephanie Wingfield; three great-grandparents, Benjamin and Bernice Russell and Rosa Lee Styles; seven close aunts, Tia Embery, Samantha Bacon (Harold), Aneisha Alexander, Sophia Phipps (Justin), Tierra Tucker, Saadia Phillips (Tony) and Jamia Smith (Demeatrius); five siblings, Ja’Niyah Embery, Yasir Russell, Malachi Burke, Keyon Nix, and Adrian Nix; her best friends, Lady, Kennedi, and Melody; and her favorite cousins, Jayleigh, Mackenzie, DJ, Erza, and Kori. She also leaves behind an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins, and loved ones. She is also remembered by Justice Russell (Sade), former husband of her mother, Alexiya, who remained a part of her life.
Born on the observation of Veterans Day, Londyn was always special, a military baby who lovingly referred to herself as “The Queen” because she liked to have her way and never let anyone forget it. Londyn was the definition of a true friend. She didn’t care what you had or didn’t have — if she called you her friend, she had you, fully and without condition.
Londyn loved to cheer and do gymnastics. She loved to bake, especially with her grandmothers Sonya and Joyce. She was an amazing big sister and the best little sister anyone could ask for. Londyn aspired to be a Real Estate Agent just like her mother. She was one of two children who remained on the honor roll and the most gracious and thankful child you would ever meet — she knew exactly how to save her money and get what she wanted from every adult in her family.
Londyn’s favorite things were going to Five Below, Ulta, and Marshalls. She also enjoyed traveling to New York City and Universal Studios. She loved making jewelry, reading books, creating press-on nails, making slime, and collecting squishies. Her favorite character was Hello Kitty. She loved art and shared that passion with her father Antonio. Her favorite movies were Scream, Black Phone, Strangers, Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Pup Star, Goat, and Super Mario.
Londyn’s love, pride, and joy were her six puppies: Alfalfa, Spanky, Buckwheat, Cube, Quest, and Skye. They were all welcomed during her battle with cancer. With each one being her emotional support and her fierce protector. Londyn enjoyed mild flavored wings, pepperoni pizza, sour gummy worms, gummy bears, Takis, crabs and shrimp, but nothing compared to her mom’s BBQ baked beans.
Even while battling cancer, Londyn encouraged and comforted the other children within the hospital and stepped in to stop one from being bullied. Even in her final days she was optimistic, sassy, and had a comeback for everything. She was eager to be discharged to be reunited with her family and her puppies. She never gave up, she never quit, and she did not allow her disease to change her heart. Londyn provided the world with the love, compassion, warmth, and vividness in which it is needed. She did not live her life in vain — she is, and forever will be, LEGENDARY.
