Lonnie Ervin, Sr. Obituary

Lonnie Charles Ervin, Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, completed his earthly journey on 23 November 2025 surrounded by Love, Peace, and Family. Born in Unadilla, Georgia, he was known for his Faith in God, his steady presence, and a gentle spirit that touched anyone blessed to cross his path.

He is preceded in death by his devoted wife, Gladys, parents, Joseph and Annie Belle, children Larry and Eva and granddaughters Conchita and Tikkiva. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving children Lonnie Ervin Jr. (Cynthia), Carolyn Griffin (Michael), Althea Logan (Carl), Vanessa Jones (Carl), Alice Kinchen, Walter Ervin, and Joyce Ervin; grandchildren, Billy (Jen), Konasha (Mark), Jasmine (Corey), LaQuita (Wallace), Alicia, Bridgette, Lewis, Patrick, Nicholas (Kamenia), Porschia (George), Dominique, Brittany, Daysha, Jordan, Lonnie III, Angie, Bernard, Joshua, Johnathan, and Tyrone; 34 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Mildred (Ernest), Leila, Rose (Rickey) and John (Eunice), a host of extended family members and devoted friends who will forever honor his name.

Lonnie Charles Ervin Sr. lived a life rooted in Christ, Family, and Love. He was a man whose presence carried wisdom, whose humor brought warmth, and whose heart held generations together. A dedicated father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, Lonnie built a legacy that will continue to shine through the lives of everyone who knew him.

Born with a quiet strength and a natural leadership that seemed effortless, Lonnie grew into a man who believed in working hard, loving deeply, and showing up for the people he cared for. He was the steady Christian foundation of his family, firm when needed, gentle when it mattered, and supportive at all times.

As a father, he modeled resilience, respect, and responsibility. His children learned from him not only through his words but through his example, of Jesus comes first, honesty matters, family always, and that your name is carried with pride.

As a grandfather, Lonnie found joy in encouraging dreams, sharing stories, and reminding his grandchildren that they were capable of everything. He celebrated each milestone, gave advice only a man of his experience could give, and filled their lives with memories that will stay with them forever.

As a great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, his legacy expanded into a beautiful lineage; generations who will know his name, feel his influence, and inherit the love he poured into the world. Lonnie lived long enough to watch his family tree grow tall and strong, and he embraced each new branch with gratitude.

Lonnie leaves behind a lifetime of lessons, laughter, and love, gifts that will continue to echo through the hearts of those he touched. Though he has transitioned from this life, his spirit remains a guiding light.

Today, we honor not only the years he lived, but the impact he made. Lonnie Charles Ervin Sr. will be remembered with joy, gratitude, and deep affection.
