Lonnie Lee Lewis was born on August 5, 1941 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Martha and Cohen Lewis. He attended the local schools of Duval County, including Stanton Vocational High School.
Lonnie was a truck driver with US Food and after 32 years of dedicated and faithful service he retired in 2010. He was a man of many trades, a hard worker and had a great work ethic. Lonnie also had a Landscaping business for many years. He was a faithful member of Zion Community Church.
Lonnie quietly made his eternal transition on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha and Cohen Lewis; daughter, Lisa Loraine Lewis; and brother, Elgie Lewis.
Lonnie is survived by his children, Gail Lewis, Linda Sobers, Lisa Lewis Hargett (Ron) and Loreal McMiller; grandchildren, Laiyah McMiller, Lauren McMiller, RJ McMiller, Jade Matthews, Jahvion Johnson, Jahne’ Johnson, Shawnda Lewis-Holt, Lawrence Harley, Lonnie Lewis, Lentwain Harley, Antwain Harley, Lakisha Washington, Tavares Swinton and Kenmella Hester; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great great grand; siblings, Johnnie Lewis (Valerie), Herman Lewis (Linda), Bettie Carter, Shirley Hayward (Bernard), Earnestine Lewis and Martha Gibbs; dear devoted friend, Laura Crawford; lifetime friend, Dot Starke; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
