Lonnie Sessions was born on January 1, 1939 to Ole Bell Sessions and Charlie Sessions in Swainsboro, Georgia. Lonnie attended Summertime School in Emanuel County. As a young child Lonnie move to Jacksonville to live with his Aunt Daisey Green where he continued his education.
Later in life Lonnie was united in Holy Matrimony to Dorothy Ballard in which they were blessed with five wonderful children. Lonnie spent most of his time in Jacksonville as a resident of Jacksonville Beach.
Lonnie was full of life and enjoyed riding his bikes, walking, playing pool, messing around in his yard, and working on his bicycles. It was a every morning tradition to have breakfast at McDonalds or Krystal’s to start his day.
Lonnie Sessions slept away peacefully in to the arms of Jesus on Monday, May 9, 2022. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Cade; mother, Ole Bell Woods Davis; father, Charlie Sessions; brother, Joseph Sessions; and sisters, Annie Pearl Davis, Effie Davis, Mozelle Brockington.
Lonnie leaves to cherish his fond memories, his children, Michael Ballard (Bessie), Lonnie Sessions (Patricia), Ella Mildred Jolly (Andrea), and Wayne Sessions (Debbie); fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grands; four great great-grandchildren; brother, John Ivory Davis; sisters, Lora Bell Moton and Doris Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
