Loreatha Thomas

Loreatha Thomas, born on May 20, 1944, in Aucilla, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a caring and kind individual who dedicated over thirty years of her life as a dietitian with the Duval County Public Schools.

Loreatha was a beloved member of the Moncrief Missionary Baptist Church community. Loreatha Thomas found joy in spending time with family and friends. Her legacy of kindness and dedication will forever be cherished by those who knew her.

Loreatha was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Thomas; her mother, Mary Lee Powell; her father, James Powell, Sr.; and her sisters, Retha M. Brown and Rutha L. Harris.

Loreatha Thomas is survived by her children, Rickey Crumity (Rosalyn), Vonceil Sinclair (Feron), Darrell Powell (Iwona), Linda Jackson, and Joann Thomas-Vason (Dewayne). She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Brittany Sinclair, Cedrick Crumity, Ciera Atkins, Darrelle Powell, Danielle Powell, Nicole Jackson, Joelle Jackson, Khamari Brooks, Riley Atkins, and Raji Atkins. Loreatha is also survived by her siblings, Betty J. Powell, James Powell, Jr., Mary A. Powell, Kenneth Powell, Larry Powell, Valary Mallory, and Eula Davis, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends.
