Marshinell Pearson Williams was born on August 2, 1943 to the late Ernest Pearson and Mamie Lee Smith in Madison, Florida. She graduated from Madison County High School in 1961. She moved to Miami, Florida afterwards. She later moved to Boston, Massachusetts for about four years before returning to Miami, Florida in the late 1960's.
In September 2021, Marshinell moved to Tallahassee, Florida where she resided until her death. She worked a few different jobs during her younger years. However, she started her career working in healthcare in 1980 at Cedars Medical Center as a Unit Clerk. In 1984 she started working at Jackson Memorial Hospital in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit as a Unit Clerk. She remained at Jackson Memorial Hospital until she resigned for personal reason in the late 90’s.
Marshinell accepted Christ in her life at an early age. Prior to moving to Tallahassee, Florida last year she had been a faithful and longtime member of Second Canaan missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Jeffery L. Mack. She was a dedicated member of Choir 1# where she loved singing. She was loving, fierce, strong-willed, compassionate and stood by those she loved. She enjoyed shopping, music, good food, and spending time with her family.
Marshinell Pearson Williams quietly answered the Master’s call on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Williams; father, Ernest Pearson; and mother, Mamie Lee Smith.
Marshinell leaves to cherish her fond memories, her loving children, Olivia Curry-Jonsson, Pamela Curry, Robert Williams, Vincent Williams and Mamie Frasier; grandchildren, Asa Curry, Cameron Whittaker, Brie Curry, Tavis Daniels, Brandon Williams, Brandon Dawson, Azia Curry Jonsson, Inga Jonsson-Cherenfant, Rashad Williams, Carl Bissainthe and Robbie Williams; great grandchildren, Asa Curry, Jr., and Theodore Graham Cherenfant; son-in-law, James “Jim” Jonsson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
