Marvin Green Obituary

Marvin Jerome Green was born on August 5, 1955, in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Essie Mae Green and Thomas Scriven. He peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication.

Marvin was a proud graduate of First Colonial High School class of 1973 Virginia Beach, Virginia. After completing his education, he went on to build a long and dedicated career at the Jacksonville Shipyard, from which he retired after many years of faithful service.

He was united in marriage to the late Bobbi Jean Green, and together they built a life filled with love and shared joy. Marvin was a member of Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church, where he never missed an opportunity to support the ministry.

A true outdoorsman at heart, Marvin had a passion for gardening. His beautifully maintained curbside appeal was a testament to his talent and pride in his home. He was also an avid Florida State Seminole fan, never missing a chance to cheer on his team.

Marvin cherished the time spent with family and friends. Whether sharing stories, enjoying a meal, or simply sitting in good company, he found joy in togetherness and left lasting impressions on those around him.

Marvin was predeceased in death by his son, Marvin Johnson; his mother, Essie Mae Green; his father, Thomas Scriven; his sisters, Delores Greene, Eva Patricia Green and Deborah Green; his brothers, Ronald Green and Kenneth Green; and his aunt, Mercedes Grayer.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved granddaughter, Miquisha Johnson; devoted siblings, Barbara Clark (Benjamin), Thomas Green (Donna), Pamela Scriven, and Kimberly Scriven; brother-in-law, Bobby Greene; aunt, Dorothy Carter; like-an-aunt, Margaret Williams; special cousins, Evangelist Joyce Ponder and Gary Williams; a dear and devoted friend, Marilyn Parrish; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will continue to celebrate his life and legacy.

Marvin will be remembered for his warm spirit, kind heart, and the beauty he brought not only to his garden but to the lives of all who knew him.
